If you’re chasing down Minister Screw in Borderlands 4, you’re either stuck on his location or you’ve got your eye on his loot. Happens to everyone sooner or later. First thing – drop onto planet Xylos and head into the Gilded Foundry.
Don’t waste time on the main factory floor; he’s hidden in a side zone called Assembly of Penance. Best way there? Spawn at Scrapheap Gateway and go north past that hulking slag crusher. Trust me, you’ll bump into plenty of Maliwan zealots along the way. Oh, and if you’re short on resources, Borderlands 4 Cash can make gearing up a whole lot easier.
You’ll eventually hit a big round chamber with a busted bridge in the middle. Ignore the bridge – hang a left and you’ll spot a narrow maintenance hallway that’s almost hidden in the shadows. Push through the Screwbots there, and you’ll face a small puzzle: shoot three glowing power conduits to get the blast door open. It’s simple, but the enemies will keep you busy. Behind that door, you’ll find Minister Screw up on a platform, spouting nonsense and ready to throw down.
The fight’s not a walk in the park. His shield’s huge, keeps coming back, and swaps between shock and corrosive weaknesses. That means you’ll need both elements on you if you don’t want to drag it out. He moves like he’s fuelled on sugar, and his electrical storm attack will shred your shields instantly if you stand still. Worst of all is his beam attack – called The Screwdriver – which can drop you straight into Fight For Your Life. You’ll want to manage his bot spawns while chipping away at that shield whenever you can.
The loot is why you’ll keep coming back. Minister Screw’s signature drop is The Loose Cannon, a legendary Torgue rocket launcher with rockets that spiral in a wide corkscrew, perfect for clearing mobs but not so hot for single targets. His other must-have is The Circuit Breaker, a legendary class mod that’s gold for shock-heavy builds.
It boosts shock damage and can instantly top up your shield when you trigger shock effects. He can still cough up other world pool legendaries, but those two are the big draw.
